Silver Dollar City with the Parents

I went to SDC in October to see the brand new Pumpkin Festival.  It was well worth it.  Mom and Dad came along - though she didn't seem to make the cut when it came to photos! It was really nice weather and they both seemed to enjoy themselves.  I didn't think we were going to get Dad back up the hill to the front of the place at the end of the day though.  Heather & Rami were there the day before and took them to see the Statler Brothers.  Mom loved it!

Branson Fun!

Another successful trip to Big Cedar  happened last week. We all had so much fun.  Amber posted lots of lake pictures but she isn't included in any of them so here's one of her and some baby geese.

Bumper cars were a big hit.

This is a terrible, terrible ride.  You go around and around and get dizzy and feel like you are going to throw up.  I went on it twice and said, "Enough!" Catherine, Mary, Amber & Edie are in this shot. The girls would have done this all day if we would have let them.

Everyone needs a rootbeer float break!

This was fun to watch.  Glad I wasn't on it getting soaked!

And... We're Back!

Sorry for the long lapse between blogs.  Google informed me that I was out of "free" space and I didn't want to pay them any moolah for more, so I have been scrambling to figure out what to do.  Still haven't got all the issues resolved but I'm working on it.
Here's what's been happening:  Steve and I took Amber and the 4 grandkids to Branson for the Christmas season.  Our first stop was Silver Dollar City.  They loved the rides.  I mean really, really loved them.  Here is Michael showing us his surprise face on the carousel.

They started out on the kid swings and enjoyed them, so they moved up to....

the big kids swings.  If you look closely you can see Steve and Mary in the front seat.  Catherine behind them sitting alone and Amber and Michael next to Catherine.

They were not ready to stop riding all the rides, but we talked them into watching the electric light parade.

We headed up to the front of the park to eat our traditional buffet dinner  and then head back outside to watch the tree light show.

We are so happy that they moved back to the area so we can enjoy things like this with their family.  Hopefully next year we'll have Chris's family to share this with also!

Silver Dollar City

Steve and I went to Silver Dollar City on Monday.  We have a season pass and decided to take advantage of it since we were in the area.  They had some unique ways to keep the animals cool. They had buckets of ice that the rabbits snuggled up to and some of them had fans!

Only in the hills of the Ozarks do you find people laying in the streets when they get tired!  Actually, I think he was part of a skit but I never saw anything.

Steve said he had one foot in the grave!
