Trips & Birds

This past week I took my parents on a day trip down Hwy 70 and back on Hwy 94.  A couple of the places we wanted to stop weren't available for one reason or another, so we made do with what we could find!  First stop was in Fulton.  It was an old fashioned Ice Cream Fountain.  Delicious malts!

Down the road was the Westminster College. Home of the Churchill Museum.  Well worth the money.

On the college grounds is a piece of the - my mind has gone blank - I think it's called the Berlin Wall. Churchhill's granddaughter carved the male/female outlines in it.  We ate at Burgers Smokehouse in California, Mo.  Nearly ran out of gas on Hwy 94.  and went to Herman to eat brats but the restaurant was closed.  A few shops were perused and much fun was had by all.

I've really been enjoying the hummingbirds in the backyard.  The only problem is they are very territorial and it's hard to get a picture.  As soon as one lands, a 2nd one comes and chases him away!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Gussie!

We celebrated in true Rennier fashion.  With ice cream and cake!  Gus wore his favorite expression.  I'm gonna look at the camera, but you can't make me smile!

The opening of the gifts is about to start.

A most delicious cake that Amber made.

He was pretty excited about the singing.

Daddy had to hold him so he could blow the candles out.  I think he needed some help with that too!

Yeah to another year with our favorite little guy!
