Williamsburg

Colonial Williamsburg.  We haven't been here in at least 30 years.  I don't think we even had Tommy the last time we were here.  It was everything I hoped for.  We enjoyed walking around the colonial village and biking around town.

There was a revolution!

My favorite part wasn't even the colonial village.  It was a house from the 40's.  Rockefeller bought this dilapidated house and had it redone.  He also invested 100 million into the town to restore the village.

This is the outside of the house from the backyard.

General George Washington spent enough time here that he had his own pew in the local church.

There were tons of lilacs.  They smelled heavenly!

This is the front hallway of the Governors Palace.  I think he wanted to make a statement.

Big Cedar Birthday

Steve & I took Amber and all 6 grandkids to Big Cedar to celebrate Michaels 5th bday.  Some of these pictures are similar to Amber's but since we were at the same place at the same time you get double!
This is the indoor pool.  It was too deep for Olivia and Michael so they hung out on the side.

Gussie liked the horses as long as they didn't get too close to him.  This one thought Edie smelled good!

Geocaching with Grandpa is awesome!

Playing putt putt barefooted.  The weather was great!

Olivia was hiding in the fish! He's part of the putt putt course.

Love Big Cedar waterfalls.

The kids really enjoyed the paddle boats.

Except for Michael.  He couldn't wait to get off of his. He preferred sitting in a pontoon that was tied up to the dock.

This was seen on the cave tour we went on.

The kids really enjoyed the golf carts on the tour.  Catherine tried to steer and then she tried to do the gas pedal.  She wasn't successful in either one!  She decided to leave the driving to me.

On the way home we stopped at the famous Lamberts Restaurant.  Home of the throwed rolls.  The kids thought it was great.  They can throw these rolls the whole length of the restaurant but with smaller kids they get up close.  Michael still enjoyed it though!

Easter

Happy Easter!  We had  a great time today.  The weather was perfect.  The food was good.  And the kids were cute!  What more could you ask for at a family get together?

The kids all wore pastels and looked like they should be models in a magazine.

I thought the girls looked like fairies flitting through the grass.

Gussies's freckles have really popped out and they are so cute!
