Racing and a Birthday

We had a great weekend in LA with Tommy and Jena.  We went to a bike race on Saturday and then headed to Santa Barbara to eat a delicious birthday dinner for Tommy.  After spending the night there we went to 3 wineries.  This one was our favorite.  We especially liked the bean bag game!

This is Castaic Lake.  As you can tell the drought has really affected it.  Tommy raced here.

Here he is at the start of the race.  They all came down the road in a big pack.

He is finishing the first lap.  It was @37 miles long.  Look at the hills behind him.  I can't imagine riding this!

Now he's made a u-turn and is headed back out for another 37 miles.  I can't get over the hills he is racing up and down!

Hi, Honey!  Happy Birthday!

Random shot of him standing in front of their apartment.

Topsail Preserve State Park

After we left Live Oak Landing, we moved the RV to Topsail Preserve.  This was located on the Gulf.  It had hiking and biking trails, ponds like the one below and beautiful white sand.  It was gorgeous.  We spent a lot of time here riding bikes, walking and enjoying the solitude.

Grayton Beach

Steve and I took the RV last week and headed to Destin, FL.  Here are 2 pictures of the first place we parked it.  It was very quiet and peaceful.  There was a small river that flowed out to the bay right across from our RV.

We headed to Grayton Beach on Tuesday. It was a great place to hike and explore the beach area. The white sand beaches are just beautiful.
