Playing Catch Up

I know my loyal fan base has been wondering why I haven't been updating the blog the last few days. What can I say? We've been busy! Steve had his alumni basketball game at Lindenwood last weekend. No, he didn't play! They get introduced during half time, get into the game free and of course there is free food. (I go because of that!) It's always fun to hear the guys relive the glory days.

Mary and I went to lunch a few weeks ago. Just the two of us. We really enjoyed it. There was a big table of red hat ladies and EVERY ONE of them came up to our table and asked her if she was a princess!

Our nephew Bennett received his Eagle Scout Award. We were invited to attend the ceremony and to celebrate with him. A lot of hard work went into this achievement. Congrats, Bennett!!!

Mike brought the kids over last week and we went to Pump It Up. What a fun place! We ran into 2 of my cousins and their grandkids. I tried explaining to Catherine that the little boy aggravating her was her 3rd cousin. She just looked at me like I was nuts!

Catherine's birthday pictures

Catherine celebrated her 5th birthday on Sunday. There were lots of friends and family invited to share in the celebration.

She was very pleased with her strawberry birthday cake.
She blew out all the candles on her first puff!
As the adults finished eating and talking, she was patiently waiting to open her presents.
Michael was very interested in what she was opening.

It is really nice having the east coast bunch living in the midwest now. We are all able to gather and enjoy these family celebrations together. Happy Birthday Catherine!

Smoke gets in your eyes

I realize these aren't the most glamorous pictures, but they really intrigued me. I kept looking at the smoke. It's white where it comes out of the stack, goes grey, then black, then grey again. I wonder what kind of people live by the power plant. Does it drive them crazy seeing the building and smoke everyday? Have they lived there so long that they don't really even notice it anymore? We have a neighbor who painted their front door pink. Everyone talked about it. Day after day as I drove by it I commented to myself how ugly it was. Is it still pink? I have no idea. If it is I'm so accustomed to it I don't even notice it.

Rennier Christmas

The usual suspects arrived on Monday afternoon for the Renniers Annual Holiday Bash.

We had the Farmer and the Chef.

The corporate guy and the bachelor.

The hells angel bike rider.

The fashion stylist and the farmer (again)!

The reader and his posse.

And you always need a comedian!

Good times. Good food. Good family.
