Gatlinburg 2019

Here are a few pictures from our trip to Gatlinburg.  Mike and Chris's family joined us for a family vacation. (We missed you Tommy & Jena!)
On the way there we stopped for a night in Nashville.  The kids enjoyed eating at the Rainforest Cafe and walking through Opryland Hotel.

Our first day there we took the ski lift up to the top of Anakeesta.

We found a wheelchair and put Chris in it. He broke his foot right before our trip. Olivia tried to push her Daddy up the hill.

The next day we headed to the Smokey Mountains.  The kids all wore their swim suits and played in the water. We also enjoyed a picnic lunch there.

Olivia & Sunny went horseback riding one afternoon.  This was Sunnys first time on a horse.  She also said it would be her last!

We drove the Foothills Parkway one day.

We made the hike to the top of Clingmans Dome.  The view was pretty wonderful.

We went to the Pirates Voyage.  It was a dinner show.  We all thoroughly enjoyed it.  Mermaids, Pirates, Seals, Dogs, Trampolines, Diving - what is there not to like?

There were 4 bears walking by our condo!

South Dakota

Ever since we visited  South Dakota 4 years ago I've been wanting to return. This time we visited the Badlands.  They were incredible.

This is not the best picture but you can see how well the mountain goats are camouflaged .

We stopped at Mt Rushmore again.  What a great monument.

We stayed at Sylvan Lake Lodge.  The rooms are just average but the location and the lounge area make up for that.

Sylvan Lake is beautiful.

Steve enjoying the lounge area.

We saw several waterfalls on our way to Deadwood.

These buffalo were plentiful in the Badlands.

We stopped in Sioux Falls on the way home to see the falls.  I was surprised to see how big they were!

Gulf Shores

Steve & I had a trip planned to Gulf Shores.  He ended up staying home due to construction starting on our farm house. My friend Karen joined me instead.  We found a really cute place to eat our lunch.   It was located right on the beach.  We really enjoyed it.

Another place we found was called the Flora-Bama.  Apparently everyone has heard of this place except the 2 of us.  It's located on Florida/Alabama state line. As you can tell from the pictures it is a rather interesting place.

Our timeshare was really cute.  It was also right across the street from the beach.  We walked over every morning and just enjoyed the view.

On our way home we stopped in Laurel, Mississippi.  It's the home of Ben and Erin who have a show on HGTV.  They own a couple of really cute home stores.
