When Mom's away....

While Amber and Michael, Jr. were in Iowa visiting the new baby, the girls spent some time at our house. First on our list was Planet Fun!  They enjoyed slides, climbing tubes, pizza and jewelry!

We also got up early one morning and walked over to the park.  They put some new equipment in and this was the first time they got to play on it.  

It was also nice having Aunt Jena around to make ponytails and pig tails!

Dodge City

Steve and I drove through Dodge City, Kansas on our way home from LA. It's the only time either one of us has been here. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here again! I thought for all of the build up that there would be more to do. They have a small recreated town front that you tour.  You also get to walk up Boot Hill, which is behind the Western Hotel. There are a few gravestones, but I don't think they actually contain bones.

Daddy's Girl

This girl is crazy about her Daddy! And he's pretty crazy about her too! When he's home from work, she's never very far from him.

Antelope Canyon

One of the places that we stopped at was Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona.  I have wanted to go here for years and we finally made it.  After reading all sorts of websites I was a little concerned about being able to get any good pictures.  They said it was very crowded.  I also tried to find photography sites that would guide me so that my photos wouldn't be terrible!  I couldn't find any!  I didn't need to worry.   Yes, it was crowded.  You have to be part of a tour group to enter. And there were lots of them.  But the guides were very good and kept everyone moving.  They directed people to get out of the way and where to take shots to get good photos.  Antelope Canyons are slot canyons.  There are openings where the sun streams down into these sandstone "caves".

We both really enjoyed this and would go back again.

The Latest Craze!

Sunny showed us her new exercise routine. She was pretty good at it. What you need to understand is this - this hula hoop is heavy! I tried it with no success. I guess the added weight is supposed to help the pounds just fall off you!

Grants Farm

I took the kids to Grants Farm on Friday. Please excuse the oversize coats on the girls. No one told us it was going to feel like winter again! We made a quick trip to Target and bought all 3 of them long pants and then the girls wore "big" girl jackets! One of the highlights was feeding the goats. Mary and Michael stayed on the outside of the fencing. They weren't real sure how to feel about these goats! They decided this was pretty cool.

Catherine, on the other hand, had to get in there and play with those goats!  They jumped on her, surrounded her and tried to eat her coat!

She thought it was great!

When Michael saw how much fun Catherine was having, he decided to come in also.

The little ponies were a big hit!

Catherine thought the Clydesdales were great.  She really wanted to get in the pen with them!
