The Garage

When last we left you, dear readers, we had bought some property that needed a lot of TLC.  We are now in the process of building a garage with an apartment over the top of it.  Our builder is fast with a hammer and a saw!

The trusses have arrived.  The guy operating the boom did a great job, especially considering there is an electrical wire close to the garage.

The view out the dormer windows.

Most of the windows are in.

A nice little half wall my  husband built so we don't fall down the stairs.
The roof and the siding should be going up this coming week.  Plus the garage doors, door and porch posts.

Sidewalk Film Festival

The Weight Movie was accepted into the Sidewalk Film Festival in August.  It was in Birmingham, AL.  It was written by Chris and Directed by Tommy.  We all arrived full of excitement!  Our first festival! Yahoo!
The few lucky ones attended an opening reception full of appetizers and drinks.

They then joined the rest of us and we stood in line for the opening  night film.

After the opening film we joined the crowds out front for a street party.

The next morning not only did we eat breakfast together but some played the staring game!

This is one of the venues that showed movies.

Everyone received a voting card when they attended any of the movies.

We arrived plenty early for the screening.

The proud Dad decided to wait inside the theater.

Lunch.  Lots of awesome places to choose from.

The brothers Rennier.

After all the excitement the next day we decided to rent electric bikes.  They were lots of fun!

You're looking at the future of Hollywood!

Big Cedar 2017

Big Cedar!
What a fun place to take the family.  Especially when the weather cooperates!
We all enjoyed the lazy river.  It's my favorite.

Kayaking was lots of fun.

This was the last smile from Gus on the go-karts.  He was not a fan.

Everyone always has a good time eating ice cream!

This is our first time playing shuffleboard at Big Cedar.  I'm sure Catherine will make sure it's not our last.

Another first was fishing

and bumper cars!

Amber spends a lot of time catching the smaller ones as they come down the slide.

Of course we had to putt putt.  It's a giant fish after all!

Eclipse Party

I am months behind on my blogging so I'm going to attempt to catch up!
In August we had an eclipse party at our farm.  Now it's not actually a farm but we are at a loss as to how to refer to it.  So for now it's a farm!  We invited some family and friends and had a great time.  It was very hot and humid.  But, hey!  It's August in Missouri.

The zipline was a big hit.  They kids rode it all day.

If you notice the strange color of this picture you can tell that the sun has started disappearing.

Time to set our chairs up for the big show.
