First Quarter of 2020 part 1

 

In March we took a hike to Bluffton Overlook Conservation Area.  Even though it was straight up we enjoyed it.

Mike is not crazy about heights.  So he remained a safe distance from the overlook while we all enjoyed the view.

                                     Edie loves the screened porch at the farm and Charlie!                                          

                      Lots of boardgames happen at the farm.

                               In February we took a trip to Destin.  The beaches were lovely.                         

                                                                                      The ice cream was delicious.

Catherine turned 13 in January!  I can't believe it.  Still remember getting the call that she was born.

Catherine is 10!

Before I put Catherine's birthday photos up I am adding a couple that I haven't shown you yet. After Christmas Aunt Jena and Olivia made cookies.  But first Aunt Jena  put their hair up in cute buns.  It sure is nice having an Aunt that likes to cook and give fashion tips at the same time!

We had an ice storm and the next day joined Chris and Olivia for a hike on the Katy Trail.

I cannot believe that Catherine is 10!  Time sure does fly by.  She is such a sweet girl.  Here she is letting Edie help her open her gifts.

The last couple of years we have taken her out to eat.  This year she picked burgers.  We had a fun time taking selfies.

After dinner we went across the street and got ice cream.  She ate half of hers and generously took the rest home and shared with her siblings.  I told you she is pretty great!

Birthday Girl's Day

Catherine and I spent the day together celebrating her birthday.  She got to pick what she wanted for lunch.  Pizza!  She wanted a "treat of pizza" she told me.  So we went to Pizza Hut.

 Then we headed to the mall for a big shopping trip.  She was really into butterfly shirts with sparkles. I guess it's all the rage with the 6 year old set.

 I tried to talk her into going bowling a different time (Grandma was tired) but she really wanted to do it NOW!

 As you can see from her score, she is a pretty good bowler.

 She was quite pleased with herself.

Happy Birthday Catherine

Happy 6th Birthday Catherine!

 On Sunday Catherine celebrated with a party. One of the games was dressing the Grandpa's as snowmen. It was quite humorous.

I can't believe that she is 6.  It seems like we were just on a plane racing from Austria to Cape Cod to see our new granddaughter. She's still pretty awesome!

Catherine celebrated her 5th birthday on Sunday. There were lots of friends and family invited to share in the celebration.

She was very pleased with her strawberry birthday cake.
She blew out all the candles on her first puff!
As the adults finished eating and talking, she was patiently waiting to open her presents.
Michael was very interested in what she was opening.

It is really nice having the east coast bunch living in the midwest now. We are all able to gather and enjoy these family celebrations together. Happy Birthday Catherine!
