Happy Birthday! Happy 3rd CF Anniversary!

A few weeks ago Steve and I flew to LA for Tommy's birthday. As a surprise for Jena, her parents flew in for her birthday also.  Steve & I love the marina so that was one of the first places we went while waiting for T & J to get off work.

The next day for lunch we all met at MB Post.  This is where Jena's parents surprised her.  It was very sweet!

That night we went out to eat fish tacos at La Sandia.  I've never eaten guacamole before, but they  made it at the table so I thought I would try it. Delicious!

As you can tell from all of these pictures, all we did was eat!  Here was breakfast at Flake.

After a trip to the Santa Monica farmers market we picked up lunch at A Cut Above.  They had tongue, intestines, stomach and several other interesting things.

The Dads checked out Tommy's car.

 We had a surprise get together to celebrate Tommy's 3rd anniversary cancer free!!!  Yeah!!!!

And we made a trip to Malibu to play at the beach and eat some seafood.

 Paul, Steve &  Tommy tried to see who could touch this rock before the waves got them.  Tommy succeeded! ( I experimented with some music- watch out LA I'll be out there editing before long.)

Together Again!

We celebrated Tommy's 2nd anniversary with a few of his friends.  These pictures aren't very good.  Low light and it's a camera phone. But you get the idea.  It was really great that everyone (minus brother Mike) was able to make it.  When you have a policeman and a paramedic in the crowd you're not sure if they'll be off work or not.  I think it's something pretty special when the guys that you grew up with are still your best friends!

 I think they all ate their weight in meat!

It's Tommy's 2nd anniversary!

One more race....

Before Tommy & Jena left to move back to the left coast he had one more bike race to compete in. He's wearing the black Livestrong jersey with the gold stripe down the front.

              This is a signature Tommy move.  No matter how hot or tired he is he gives us the thumbs up.When he used to run he would run over to us and give us a high five.

Celebration Day!

Today, we celebrate one year of Tommy being cancer free! Not a day goes by that we don't thank God for healing our son. Tommy has accomplished so much this past year. He directed a feature length movie, went to Europe for a month with his wife, spent 6months editing the movie, gotten a job, pumped a lot of iron and ridden many, many miles on his bike. Take a look at this picture. This was Tommy before chemo.

Here is his new buff look. You can tell he's been lifting a few weights!

Congratulations Tommy! We love you! And we'll never complain about long hair again!
