I must confess. I planned all along to stop at this tourist trap. It was hokey. But we still enjoyed it! It was a recreated Dutch Village. We tried on clogs.
We headed to Michigan last week. I asked Steve if we could stop at the Dunes in Indiana on the way. We were surprised at the amount of people that were there. One very large group had 2 small propane tanks and were frying up some type of Indian food. The toughest part wasn't dragging ourselves up a large dune as we huffed and puffed, but the little brats that were running past us up the hill acting like it was nothing!
We took Chris & family to Mark Twain Lake for Fathers Day. This was Sunny's first time in an RV -more about that later! Carl & Elaine came up for the day. Greg & Ann were there. We spent the afternoon sitting around eating, talking & laughing. Olivia kept us all entertained. And then we let Elaine drive our car home! She asked if we had insurance!!
It took Olivia a few minutes to adjust to the water and all the kids, but once she did there was no stopping her. She hopped, ran, climbed on rocks, sat, stuck her head in the water and when she got bored she went down the slide with her Daddy.
After a few days of trying to clean up the debris by ourselves, Steve, Chris & I decided we needed to call a few of our friends in to help. Thanks everyone!
I originally titled this post wind shear. I have changed it to tornado because it has officially been classified as such. The storms that blew through on Friday night got my parents house. They are fine. Chris, Steve and I went over Saturday morning and worked on cleaning the drive way off so they could get the white car out. Then we moved to the side yard and tried to salvage a few things. They are waiting on the tree guy to come and remove the tree from the garage roof.
Back yard. Can you see all the electric lines down?
This brick is from their fireplace. They lost the top portion of it.
Almost every house on their street had some type of damage.
