What can I say? It wasn't an all out disaster, but you be the judge!

Soccer Grandpa Style
Grandpa rallied the troops to play a game of soccer last weekend. Teams were picked,
a scorekeeper was found,
the game began.
The pink team immediately scored!
The bench player was brought in due to the poor performance by Gramps!
But it was too late. Pink team dominated. Time to go home for dinner.

Shaker Village
After we left Monticello we headed home. Our path took us through West Virginia. They had some beautiful colors happening.
We went south when we hit Lexington, KY. We went to Shaker Village. We've been here once before. The Shakers are no more. When you don't believe in doing what husbands and wives do, you tend to stop having little ones to carry on. But, they sure knew how to pick a peaceful, beautiful place to build. This is the room that we stayed in. They are pretty austere.
They have lots of buildings on the property. Most have been turned into hotel rooms or meeting rooms.
This is one of the dual spiral staircases that are in the above building. This building also contains their restaurant. And boy is it good!
Doesn't he look good? It's all the quiet and peace that he's absorbing by being here!

Monticello
Steve is a history buff. Didn't know if you knew that or not. It gets really annoying, especially when I can't remember anything about history. Glad I'm out of school! While in Virginia we visited Monticello and the Michie Tavern. This tavern is now a restaurant and they give tours of the whole house. It is circa 1784. If you go, be sure and eat the cornbread. Delicious!
Half a mile down the road is Monticello. Home of Thomas Jefferson. This view of the house is actually the front, but the back view is more well known. Every time I tour one of these historical homes I'm amazed at how short they must have been back then. The beds are tiny! Did you know that Jefferson had his own bible? He took out all of the miracles!

Virginia
Steve and I drove out to Gordonsville, VA. It's in the middle of nowhere! But really beautiful. We stayed at Shenandoah Crossings. It's one of the places that our timeshare allows us to go.
We made a few new friends!
Beautiful mornings...
Since Steve has a broken shoulder this is the only activity that he could take part in.
Beautiful mornings...
Beautiful mountains...

Catherine slides
The kids and I went to play the other day. Catherine probably went down this slide 100 times! Mary maybe 90! Michael 2! Instead of sliding he really enjoyed watching Catherine. Listen to his laugh!

Busy Bee Olivia!
Here are a few videos of Olivia. These aren't the best, but I wanted you to see how busy she is!
It's never a good thing to have a dirty wagon!
